Aliens

I made this kit many years ago, it was produced by a UK Model Company called Halcyon and this figure was sculpted by UK sculpter Colin Batty. I shot these pics on my old Yashica 35mm, I took my asthma inhaler and fired a couple of jets of it into the beam of my slide projector behind the model, then took a half second exposure of the model.

Tron Recognizer's

Something a bit CG retro here, pictured are 2 Recognizer's that I made from 1982's Tron, the movie is celebrated as a milestone of computer animation.
Modelled in and rendered in Max

Motherships

Ships modelled in Max and render done in Vue 5 Infinite, some photoshop work also added to this pic.

Satellite - Work in progress Part 2

Added a bit more detail, and thought I'd do a test render of it above Mars. Still lots of work to do on this though.

Rocket Ship - Work in progress

Done some more work on this Dan Dare-esque Rocket Ship. It still need some fins and some other details adding and the cockpit detailing.

Something shiny

Now I'm sure I haven't posted this before, but if I have oh well here it is again ! :)

Radar Model

This is something else I couldn't remember If I'd posted or not, it's a Radar made from kit parts and various other bits of plastic junk that I started a while back, eventually but don't ask me when it's going to be part of a much bigger model.

More parts

Whenever I draw a person or a monster I always seem to start with an eye, and it seems whenever I start building a spaceship I start with engines, I've found another lot tucked away on my spare drive. I actually checked through my blog to make sure I hadn't already posted these pics as I keep finding more bits and Pieces that I feel sure I must have posted at some point. So I do seem to have a lot of engines but I also found this cockpit for a retro Dan Dare-esque spaceship that I started, now I know I had a sketch somewhere of what the whole rocketship would looklike so I'll have to try and dig that out.

Back to the world of Blogging

Hi all, I've been away on Holiday this past week with my family, we travelled upto Northumberland, and stayed near Bamburgh. The weather was pretty lousy all week. So that's family holidays over for another year, we've managed 3 weeks but only one had great weather !! We've already got 2 weeks booked up for next year but sadly you can't book what the weather's going to be like in the UK !

The Mask - Sculpture

I did this sculpture around 1995 based on the Dark Horse Comic Book character The Mask, drawn by Doug Mahnke. The model was sculpted in Fimo and painted in Humbrol Acrylic paints. I ended up chopping this model just below the smiley face badge and making it into a head and shoulders bust which I gave some friends as a moving in present when they got their first flat in Walthamstow, London.

Jabba the Hutt - Sculpture

I posted some close-ups of this sculpture back on March 30th, I found this pic today showing the whole model. The background pic of the palace was a Ralph McQuarrie painting from the Return of the Jedi portfolio. The rocks were made of 'Das Pronto' and the sand was made from 'Horlicks' powder, a malt drink here in the UK. For info on what I made Jabba from please check my March post in the archives.

More old pics

Here's some old pics that were done in watercolour with a bit of Photoshop work, or in the case of the 2nd pic entirely coloured in Photoshop.

Alien Concept

I did this drawing around 1997, I think I drew this in between projecting movies at the Odeon. I painted it recently in Photoshop.
