Old work - Circa 1985

I may be wrong about the exact date for these 2 but they're sometime in the mid 80's.The first picture is of a 4 Foot Long 'Super Star Destroyer' from The Empire Strikes Back. I made this model from wood, cardboard, styrene card and a pretty big assortment of kit parts. The model was made for a Star Wars convention that was cancelled at last minute, so I spent 3 months taking up may Mother's kitchen table making this model for nothing, which at the time narked me a fair bit. The model ended up on display at a local Role-Playing Store where after a few months it got dropped, the last time I seen it probably 15 years or more ago it was in a storeroom in pieces. I'd given up caring about it by that point. I never got a great many photo's of the ship, I have a couple of old stills of it under construction and a handful of Black and White pics, this being one of the better ones.
The 2nd pic is my mate Andy Conway under a make-up that I sculpted and then made up as latex appliances, which I painted up and applied. Andy was always my guinea pig, and we did quite a few latex make-up's around this time, he left my parents house one evening around 11.30 and walked home to his house around half a mile away in a burn make-up which I'd spent a few hours applying, it looked great under the street lights, I remember he said he got a great reaction from a bloke who crossed over the road as he seen Andy heading towrds him. I think Andy then went onto to terrify his mother. This make-up we did for a Super 8mm Horror film that we shot some footage for at the time. I do miss a lot of the practical side of stuff like this, it was great fun to do.
Andy's Blog and site are in my Links.

UFO Magazine Cover - Mock up
The main image on this pic I made way back when I was working on Vue 2, I added a new sky and did a new render in Vue 5 Infinite. Then I got a bit stuck as to what to do with it, as I had rendered it portrait I thought it might lend itself to a Magazine cover. So I've mocked up a cover of a UFO magazine in Photoshop 7 to showcase this picture. The info for the picture of the UFO firing can be found here http://tinyurl.com/yn43ru
And I did the Mount Rushmore pic in Vue 3 a few years back also.
I also added a nod to Niel Bushnell's Farmageddon project with the mention of 'Zakak and Zimov' info on that pair can be found here http://tinyurl.com/yflfgk

Toxic Mover
I built this model in Studio Max 3 around 4 years ago as a background vehicle for an SF Short. Niel Bushnell of Qurios Entertainment wrote the story quite a while back, and as far as I know is still planning on making it into a CG short eventually. This vehicle was designed to be a Toxic Waste mover, the top pod area being detachable so it can be jettisoned into the sun or dumped on a uninhabitable world etc... then the bottom module can be re-used.
It could probably do with some re-texturing and additional work if it ever gets to be used, but I suppose projects take time and Niel's has to be fit in with other more important stuff like work.
