You very nice models and lighting going on over here. The corridor concept is very impressive. Do you use any third party renderers or is it standard max scanline renderer? Great stuff either way. Also thanks for the comments.
Wow, my jaw just fell to the floor. This is amazing - you're lighting skills are f***ing amazing - can you recommend any books or videos that may have helped you? And what do you render with? Is it MentalRay?
It was late and I was tired when I managed to delete Friday 19th Jan, 2007 from existence on my blog. Building planets must have given me a God-complex. I lament the fact that I lost our exchange in the comments section with regard to tree textures. I wanted to thank you for your advice on trees (I followed your link and that led to many an interesting place).
If I had your skills with rendering, I'd ditch my actors and have an entirely new set of CG actors. The claw ship and the Light Sabers rock. At first I thought that you built them...
It's 1.30am here in the UK. I remember reading a story in the 'Evil Dead Companion' about how when making the movie some guys brought some Moonshine over,I think they said if it burns with a certain colour flame you'll probably go insane if you have too much ! :)
you make me sick in a good way!! *wink* lol... this is freakin' sweeet pal!! it's not even hairy and i'm still in love with it!! it's the 'star wars' in me i guess? ooh, that sounded kinda kinky eh?! forget i said that. :( agh, it has been documented!! shame on me. *sigh* great sabre bro!! oh yeah, thanks for stoppin' by and commenting on my sasquatch pencil work!! :)

Hi Leon and Sarita,I rendered this scene using Maxwell renderer.
Thanks to all the rest for the feedback !
Book wise I don't really use,I just tend to watch films and I buy 3D world as they have some nice tips and tricks etc...
You can tell they WORK, too! :-)
Love the sabers.

Moonshine??? Ha! You're way too kind. No, I'm just an idiot.
PS. You have any idea how long it takes me to get through 'word verification'?
I actually had my first taste of moonshine last week...it was from a 'brewery' in Kentucky. KABAM!
How goes the 'planet' rendering? And just out of curiosity, it's 8:16 here in the states...what time is it there?
