Here are two renders of an Outpost design I did for Emmett at
Sun Gate Films. This was just a first pass at this and like the corridor is going through a number of revisions. This is a little too
Star Wars for me and have a few ideas on how the next version will look. Built in Max 7 and rendered in Vue.

Lovely detail, mate.
I'm not familiar with Vue, but it looks to be rendering outdoor scenes fantastically. How's it work?

I really dig the towers in the background. The architecture is almost 'eastern' looking which isn't really Star Wars-like. I do think that something about the foreground building looks like it could be on Tatooine. By the way, the land map looks great!
I think if you stuck it in snow it wouldn't look Star Wars like... it's just the sand, IMO. I love these. With Allen on the towers, they're very nice and very eastern. Anything ground floor with a domed roof sitting in sand is going to look like Tatooine... but then, isn't that really Tunisia anyway?
Yeah most Tatooine buildings are just Tunisian buildings with bits stuck on !
Really cool - I don't think it's too Star Wars. Awesome detail with the waves in the sand!
Great pictureS!!! As above I agree - its only the sand that makes you think star wars. Top stuff
Well there's not much I can do about the sand as the script calls for a desert/rock world. I think it's just maybe looking through some other architecture books for some more influences !
Killer stuff Glazy. The desert will take it in the end.
I recently saw a doc. about building at the poles. The harsh environment claims what ever man builds.
nice one!! love these!
Very nice. I really enjoy the structural shapes and the lighting. Fantastic renders as usual.
Very very cool! There's nothing wrong with a little too Star Wars :)
always amazed with your rendering and work! Great post Andrew
I amended the post on the darkness blog...but honestly, what you've done already has inspired the team. Every Tuesday my crew from ITT checks out your blog and gets excited! Thanks for the inspiration and the 'planet'. Some day we'll have to sit down together and have a beer!
Hi Andrew,
Just browsed through your blog posts. You have a really nice eye for detail. Lots of very good pieces! What tools do you model with in Max? I've only done low poly work so far and am unlearned in the world that lays beyond edit mesh.
Have you tried Mud Box yet? It is limited, but like my friend puts it, if you know Photoshop you know Mud Box. It's been brilliant so far, but I haven't made much worth showing yet. Maybe in the not so distant future. :)
Hi Katy ta for the feedback, I mainly model in Max. I've done low poly work but never done characters just environment stuff. Yes I was very impressed with how easy Mudbox was,and how cheap too for such a neat piece of software.I like the interface, really easy to pick.
Hey Allen I'm glad I'm inspiring someone !! :)
Fine work, especially the desert. I like the second setup most.
I'm looking forward to the next designs.
Love your work man. You take me to far off worlds outside the boundires of the mind. Impressive as always. Thanks,
MAC
Hey Andrew, thanks for the comments on my Blog, you've got some awesome work here mate.
