This Nam scene was done for a game pitch when I was working at Atomic Planet Entertainment. Thecharacters in the scene were built by Stuart Whitlock. The five huts were all variations on the same hut that I changed textures on.
I don't know if you have done any military service or have used the M16 extensively, anyway this is just from my experience.
Okay, on shooting from the hip:
1. The combat ranges of this piece appears correct. It's hard to be accurate at 15 metres (18 yards?) or so. Even then, the magazine is emptied in a controlled burst or two of automatic fire.
2. The stance appears okay but the bracing seems to be somewhat off? Why? The buttstock does not appear to be braced on the hip though in reality, the recoil isn't very strong on a M16.
3. Muzzle flash. The flash suppressor would hide most of the muzzle flash. Even at night. Of course for game purposes, it must be deliberate. Artistic licence.
4. The huts are nicely done. At least, from those that I have seen in various places.

i see my little poem merited no comment whatso ever - that may be justified but give me a 1 out of 5 for effort . nice sheds by the way .
Cool lighting!
I love the smell of photoshop in the morning......
Was the pitch successful?
Is this meant to be photo realistic? No, right?
Do you want criticism on the details, etc? If you do, let me know.
No it's not really meant to be photo-realistic, but any critism will be appreciated !!
Okay, let me address some of the details soon. They are basically based on the time I spent handling the M16 in the army and the reserves.
