This scene (The top picture) took about 1 hour to set up light and texture and has 46,895,810 Polygons in it, built in Vue Infinite it took about 2 hours to render at 1600 x 1200 pixels, I did a bit of Photoshop work to it also. The re-lit version took about the same time to render. Blogger won't let me load the bigger versions so I've loaded 1024 x 768 versions.

wow...uh...It seems as if you've never done a peice that sucks! Man these are really nifty. Keep posting, my video game design guys (and girl) love the stuff.
Mind numbingly amazing. These are pretty dang fantastic.
Wow! Very imrpessive.
Fascinating blog Andrew! I know nothing of this sort of hi-tech film and game work but it looks like an incredibly interesting and challenging application of your drawing and painting abilities, really marvelous stuff, this piece included. Also have enjoyed visiting your other blog. Best, C.
ONLY a hour? Just think what it would taken to build it as a set! "Ready when you are, Mr De Mille!"
scenic view and great atmosphere there!
Cool work, but an hour!? A you really a human? It is impossible to be so fast. (may be you are some kind of Internet AI) ^.^ I hope, you mean 1h only for light. How long did you work on the whole picture?
I thought The Outsiders are made in 1982? Are you working on the remake?
The whole pic from me starting to work on the scene to me hitting the button for the final render took just about an hour.
'The Outsiders' you're thinking of is a Francis Ford Coppolla movie, the TV show has nothing to do with that film.
Cheers all for the comments !!
I like the second picture a bit more because of it's lighting. Both are amazing for only one hour work. Especially the stony ground looks very convincing.
Great job!
I think this is a really cool pic. I really dig stuff like this, and you really put across a great mood with the relit version. I love it.
Cheers for the feedback,it's appreciated !
