Here are some renders I did in Vue of the finished landing Thrusters, the ship has four of these, 2 up front and 2 at the back. No shaders applied to these meshes, just the basic textures so far.
Ok, I've been through all the posts now and I'm utterly amazed. I've always loved sci fi shows, since I was little and I still do. SFX have always fascinated me, and while I was afraid CG would kind of 'kill' the fun I felt with the old model-style effects I grew up with, you've proven here that that is far from true. Thanks so much for sharing both images and insight. I can't begin to understand how you do what you do, but it's really keen to see behind the curtain. I have -NO- idea how you found my blog, but I'm glad as it's allowed me to look at your work. Thanks again!

I really love that top picture, I like the depth of field you have added, makes it look like a miniature.
I have to say, Andrew, this stuff really has amazed me and some of the people I work with. My students are 'jaw drop' impressed as well.
Wow - again great eye for details. They really give it a realistic feel.
There's some amazing work here. I have a lot to catch up on. It looks well worth the time!
I love your designs, they're great the only shame is that they aren't 3-D :-)
