No Hyperdrive Series 3

Kevin Cecil one of the writers of Hyperdive has announced that there won't be a 3rd Series.

Sorry everyone but there won't be a third series of Hyperdrive.

The BBC said that they really liked it and that we should be very proud of it but not enough people watched it to warrant making more.

We'd like to thank everyone on this board for their support of the show. We're very pleased that we got to make two series. We really enjoyed doing it.

Sorry.

Kevin

Sorry to hear that (not that I've been able to see the series here in the States) as you seem to really enjoy working on it. At the very least, you have a lot of really good work to show for it.

Ugh, that sucks. But you should be proud - you guys created a lot of beautiful work for the show so congrats and can't wait to see what's next!

That series never did make it over here though.

Is there no chance of BBC 3 or 4 picking this show up ?

Chuang, the show is on things like You Tube and TV Links to watch as low rez versions.

Moonwatcher, I doubt we'll see another channel pick this up, especially now BBC have announced all those cut backs etc...

I find it confusing that they would use a lack of viewers as an excuse.. i dont know anybody who didnt love the show...

I think it was just general cut backs at the BBC as well, cheers for commenting here Rowan.

for crying out loud im getting pissed off with this. every time i attach myself to a new show it gets cancelled. as i remember only fools and horses was watched by pretty much no one in the first 4 series.

then all of a sudden its one of the most watched shows around. same is said with red dwarf and look how much dr who has taken off.

so dont give me that rubbish that not enough people watch it. because the bbc know they have to give things time.

im so cheesed off i have a good mind to jam my tv licence right up the bbc's backside with toe-tech boots.

Cheers for posting Keeny, it's a shame they didn't do a 3rd series as I thought the 2nd series was better than the first. Oh well !!!!!

I've just finished both seasons of Hyperdrive and now I feel like a man who's been given a half-empty tube of Pringles. Delicious while it lasted, but now I NEED MORE!
