Grand Lunar - Work in Progress

This is a 3D model of the Grand Lunar the Head Selenite from the film First Men in the Moon. I base this on the picture in the book The Art of Ray Harryhausen. In the actual film the Grand Lunar is distorted behind a force field, but he looks pretty much like the other Selenite's except he has a much bigger brain. I suppose that's why he's head :) Rendered in Vue 5.

Holy crap! Glazy is doing characters??? Whats happening!?! Is the world ending?? Help!!

*cough*

Very nice. LOVE the skin shader. Really love it. I take it there's no SSS in there? Does Vue do SSS? If it does it would work a treat on this.
I think it needs some more detailing up along the lines of the veins diagonally up and left of his eye. Subtle stuff all over.
Why the hell haven't you done characters before Glaze?? I always knew you'd be ace at them!

Vue 5 doesn't do SSS but 6 does I've heard. This is just a skin shader in Vue 5 that I tried !
