Yet Another Corridor

Not even sure what version of Max this was made in, but it's around 18 months old and I found it on a disc that was on one of my many disc piles that I am slowly sorting through.

Vue 5 Infinite ads

e-on Software makers of Vue d'Esprit are currently running a number of adverts in CG related magazines using pieces of art that I created in Vue 5 Infinite. The one pictured is running in issue 81 of 3D World Magazine,

Here's my original uncropped picture that I posted here in January. http://tinyurl.com/o2juq

HMS Camden Lock - Prototype

This is the original model I made of the HMS Camden Lock, around a year ago now, when Qurios was first pitching for the work on BBC2's Hyperdrive. This version of the ship sticks more to Andy Riley's original doodle here http://tinyurl.com/g5fzf

I did the majority of the work then passed it onto Niel to do some anims with it, Niel added some more window detail and communication section detail. I did these renders for fun of it as a kit on display. I still like the look of the ship here but much prefer how it evolved into the final version as seen on TV http://tinyurl.com/z4lwq

Ciaranator 9000

Here's a quick 3D model I made based on Niel Bushnell's concept that he posted over on his Mad Tom's Farm blog. The model took around 75 mins but the render took 3 hours at 1024 x 768 in Vue, I did have it on the superior setting though. I've worked with Ciaran who this fridge is named after, and it bares little resemblance to him...for one thing Ciaran has a beard.

Ice World

A scene I set up in Vue 5 Infinite using terrain brought in from Geo Control, post work was done in Photoshop .

Satellite - Work in progress

I thought I'd post this which I started about the same time as my Mars Base, I might get around to finishing this once the base is complete.

Mars Base pt 2 - Work in Progress

Done some more work on this what I first posted on April 28th, adding mainly the steps area and the solar panels. I'll probably do some communication equipment next.

Planet - Base

Finished this which has been hanging around on my drive for sometime, there was just a small bit of modelling to do and the rest was render time.

Zombie

Now I'd say what was scarier than a Zombie would be a Zombie in his underpants. :)
I'm not really a character person but programs like Poser these days are getting better at letting you take base figures and tweaking face shapes and anatomy etc... So this started as a base figure and I skinnied it up using the modifiers then I took the template texture and made my own for this Zombie, it was then brought into Vue 5 Infinite where I adjusted the textures further. The final pic was rendered in Vue 5 too. The mushrooms were something I made a while back for another job.

Alien Ship

A pretty non descript Alien Ship I made about the same time I was building the Hyperdrive stuff.

Virtual Kit Parts

This is an example of some of the digital kit parts I made that were used on some of the CG Ships that I did for BBC 2's Hyperdrive. I have a rather extensive collection of kit parts and junk that I've collected over the years, I dug through the boxes and picked out parts of tanks etc... and made digital versions which I could then use on the ships. A couple of the parts are based on the Dapol Girder Bridge made for OO/HO Scale Railways, this kits been in production for more years than I'd like to estimate and parts were used on some of the Thunderbirds ships in the 1960's and also on the Space 1999 Spaceships as well as the Liberator in Blake's 7.
The parts circled in red are just some sections I modelled out from these bigger pieces of the kit parts.

Another Corridor

I believe I made this in Max 3 and it was rendered in Vue 4, anyway it's old.

Planet

Another old render I found hidden away on a disc. The texture on the planet's surface came from a Marlin Textures Disc that I bought ages ago, and I think I did the nebula's with some Alpha planes I made in Photoshop and tinted them in Vue with which this render was done.

Door area

A thing I found on my spare drive, forgot I started this, I'd added a bit more to it after this but never got around to texturing the rest so I figured I'd just post this pic for now.

A strange something

Not sure at all what this is meant to be, but it's a pic I've finally gotten around to rendering out and I figured I might as well post it here !
